Scaffold Design

Safe Access (Highland) Ltd pride themselves on providing a safe, efficient service at the fore front of Health & Safety Legislation.

With this in mind, Safe Access (Highland) Ltd Engineering Department was established in October 2009 to produce full structural designs for all scaffolds erected by a MSc qualified engineer.

Safe Access offer a design and inspection service for all Temporary Works systems including scaffolding, shoring & propping.

The Health & Safety Executive states that any scaffold outwith a basic scaffold configuration detailed in BSEN12811-1 must be designed and relevant calculations provided.

Health & Safety Executive guidance on scaffold design:

  1. All tube and fittings scaffolds should be designed by a competent person, unless a ‘Basic Scaffold’.
  2. System scaffolding should be designed and erected in accordance with the manufacturers or suppliers handbook.
  3. Any proposed modifications or alterations, outwith a system scaffolding manufacturers’ guidelines should be designed by a competent person.

Full third party scaffold designs and erection verifications available for all Tube & Fitting, Kwikstage and Cuplock scaffolds.

Prices vary with individual jobs dependant on the complexity of the project. Cost of design includes site survey, design drawings (hard copies, pdf) and relevant verifying calculations from preliminary design to working status.
